Boston Amateur Swimming Club

A Guide to Charges and Fees

Boston Amateur Swimming Club is a Members Club therefore all members must pay an annual membership fee. The membership year runs from September 1st to August 31st and the fee is due to be paid within a month of either joining or the start of the membership year. Discount is given to the membership fee if paid in September or within a month of joining (see point re Sharks below)

The membership fee includes automatic membership with the ASA at Category One level, therefore any swimmer who needs to be registered as a Category Two swimmer (those swimmers who swim competitively in Open Meets, County Championships and the National Arena League) has to pay the additional fee to the ASA. This is the difference between the Category 2 fee and Category 1 fee and has to be paid by March or when the registration is required whichever is the latest.

Monthly Squad Fees for Bronze, Silver, Junior, Future, Development, Seniors, Performance and Masters are payable one of 2 ways.

  • ·      Monthly by standing order. This is the club’s preferred method of collecting fees and is a monthly standing order payable over 12 months. The payment date should be at the beginning of the month for which the payment relates, and the payment reference should be the swimmer’s name (or names if paying for more than one swimmer).

  • ·      Cash or Cheque. This is a slightly higher amount and is paid over 11 months (no payment in August) and must be paid at the beginning of the month for which the payment relates. Late payments are penalised with an additional amount.

Monthly Fees for Sharks.

·        Although this is a section run by the club, it is the first section of the club and run as part of our partnership arrangement with the Council and the Witham Schools Federation. The monthly fees are paid direct to the Council (Pool reception) and the annual membership is included within the fee.

Please note – squad fees are due monthly and members are expected to pay even if they do not swim in any month – (unless they are ill in which case they should speak to the Treasurer).

Pay As You Go Charges.

Are exactly what they say they are and are fees due at the time an activity is done – Masters & Weights.

Moving squads

When a swimmer moves squads the new squad fee is due for the month they move, and the difference between the new and old fee should be paid as soon as possible, but it is perfectly acceptable to adjust the following monthly payment with the difference, so if you are paying by standing order please advise your bank of the new amounts prior to the next payment being made. Details of the charges can be found on the Club Notice Board and on our web site www.bostonasc.co.uk
