Anglian
League Final
24th September, 2005
The
A team finished in second place to City of Norwich although I
feel that we lost the league in the last round when two
disqualifications cost us losing to Louth.
On
the night our strengths were in the IM events.
Rebecca
Price won the open 100IM and Sam Wright and Leah West swam best
times to win the boys and girls15/u 200IM respectively.
Wins
were hard to come by with Norwich dominating the gala and
winning 14 events. Although, Hollie Featherstone won
the13/u 100 fly and Jessica Murfin the 13/u 100 Free. We also
found victory in the 6x50 Free relay.
However,
it was the Breaststroke swimmers that most impressed
me. Rhys Cox won the open 50m race with good start and
good turn but the Swimmer of the Meet was Jemma
Tointon, who's split of 22.2, 24.8, 25.0, 25.4
was an excellent pace and knocked 3 seconds off her best
time to finish with 1.37.52.
*******
The
B team travelled to Kings Lynn in the consolation final of the
Anglian league.
The
B Team finished in third place and eighth place in the league,
beating Norwich Swans and Downham on the night and in the
league.
Ruth
Singleton and Kayleigh North both won their age group in
the100 metres butterfly event, with Kayleigh achieving a new
personal best time.
But
it was double winner Conor Murphy who takes the title
of Swimmer of the Meet. Conor knocked 4
seconds off his 100 backstroke time and a massive 9 seconds
off his 100 Breaststroke.
Well
done to you both.
