Swimmer of Meet

County Championships 18th March, 2006

Boston swimmers are keeping up the great form and even more gold medals but only five swimmers collect the total of 13 Gold's we won.

Patrick Ikhena won the 12years 50m breaststroke.
Rhys Cox winning the 15yrs 200m fly and 400m IM - just proving you have to be in it to win it.
Reuben Reed in outstanding form won three Gold's in the 200m fly, 50m and 200m freestyle.
A swimmer winning four gold's would normally get swimmer of the meet - not this time - but its so good seeing Rebecca Price swimming so well winning the 200m fly, 400m IM and 50m and 200m freestyle events.

Swimmer of the Meet
is Ben Pogson who won the 50m freestyle, was Age Group and Junior Champion in the 200m Free and then made the final of the 100m Backstroke.  Ben just missed out on his National time in the heat with a poor finish, and as we had worked a lot on his finish  the last thing I said to Ben before the race was 'make sure you get good finish'!

In the final I was a bit worried as Ben went out faster in the first 25 and it was the second and third length that he had to swim faster and also get a good finish.  Ben kept the speed up and gained his first National Time, was Age Group and Junior Champion and Third senior.

Where was Lewis?
