Swimmer of Meet |

| It
was a bit disappointing that nobody gained a National time at Enfield -
it's the first time that this has happened. We will not be going to
this meet next year. Once again there were a lot of good swims. Laura Swain swam 1.08 in the100m Freestyle which was a big PB and at last gained a PB in the 100m Breaststroke. Ose Ikhena, another swimmer who has been struggling to find any form after his holiday, achieved a PB in the 200m Breaststroke, while big brother Patrick could not find any form. Zak Lomas was on form with his freestyle achieving PB's in both the 100m and 200m events. Reuben Reed had a good meet with plenty of gold's and 5 PB's from his 7 swims and was close to being swimmer of the meet. I now have to choose between two swimmers who both had special swims. Kimberley Van Haren gets second place. I was impressed with Kimberley achieving a time of 1.17.47 in the100m Butterfly and also swimming another two PB's in the 100m Freestyle and 200m Breaststoke events. Swimmer of the Meet goes to Ben Pogson, swimming with smile despite missing out on a National qualifying time in the 200m Backstroke. Although Ben achieved a PB in this event - his first in a year, he also gained a PB in the 200m Individual Medley and finished 2nd in the Butterfly skins - shame it was not I.M. skins as it was supposed to be! With all that Butterfly practice, Ben went on to swim a PB in the 50m Butterfly the next day. However, it was Ben's 100m Freestyle swim in a time of 56.57 that just gave him the edge over Kimberley for Swimmer of the Meet on this occasion. Well Done, Ian |
