Team Of course I am disappointed with the amount of swimmers who were not available for the Fenland League. When A team swimmers put 'not available' of course I have to bring in swimmers from the B team and those swimmers cannot go back into the B and swim the same race. I have to ask the question, 'Are we big enough to put two teams in the league?' But if the Club pull out the B team then it is not fair on those B team swimmers who never miss a round. Maybe we should enter one team when swimmers put N/A and not select them for the league any more! At full strength we would have won this gala, but the swimmers did very well nonetheless. Our 9 year olds had the opportunity see how good they were in individual races . Brandon Whitham finished 3rd in the 10/under Breaststroke. Amber Nuttman was 4th in the 10yrs Backstroke. Harry Dean Allen swam Backstroke in the 12/under age group and also finished in fourth place. Lewis Teague finished 3rd in the 50m Butterfly in the 12 years age group and 2nd in the 10yrs 25m Butterfly. These swimmers look to have a good future ahead of them in the sport if they continue to train. Two swimmers I was impressed with were moved up to the A team from the B and will be staying in the A team for the next round. Harriet Housam in the 12yrs 50m Backstroke was so determined and made all the windows shake as she hit the pads in winning position! The other is my Swimmer of the Meet - Hannah McLeod, who moved across from the B team and was a treble winner the 10/under 25m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle and 11/under 50m Butterfly. Hannah also came 2nd in the 12/under 50m Butterfly. Well Done, Ian |
