Swimmer of Meet

Fenland League Finals 28th October, 2006

I felt that the A team missed their chance to win the league for the first time.
It was down to the swimmers on the night who battled hard all night and only faded the in the last seven events.

We had three boys put not available and one lad fell ill which cost us dearly, as I feel sure we would have won if they had been part of the team.

We are never as strong at the end of the league as we are at the beginning as we have so many swimmers improving and breaking the cut off times.

We do well however, considering that we go to an open meet at the same time as one of the rounds and another round clashes with the Midlands.

I still want to win the League, I hope you do too!

First places were hard to come by, so well done to Rebecca Craven and Laura Swain.  Unfortunately both swimmers made mistakes in other races.

Swimmer of the Meet then goes to Amelia Murfin, winning the 12/u 50m Backstroke.

The B Team once again have done a great job finishing in 10th place in the league.   That puts them in the Consolation Final and their opponents (apart from Bottisham)  have all been in the A Final in past years.

Beating five A teams in the league is a good achievement but if we were in the lower gala the swimmers would have more chance of winning.

With only one winner Mantas Knisevskis is the Swimmer of the Meet,  winning the 11/u 50m Fly and Freestyle.

Well Done to both teams!
