Swimmer of Meet

Fenland League  -   4th February, 2006

A Team

With only four swimmers failing to gain a best time, it was again a difficult job to pick a ‘Swimmer of Meet’.

With 40 events and 3 relays totalling a massive 33 best times swam.

It was also nice to beat the finalist winners, Grantham, and I’m sure that if we’d had a full squad last season, we would have won the final gala and the League.

Reuben Reed broke two cut-off times, had two wins and a second place.

Swimmer of the Meet though goes to Kimberley Van Haren with two victories as well as breaking the cut-off times in the 12/u 50m back and the 11/u 50m breast.

B Team

This was an outstanding achievement beating Wisbech, and there were many good swims.

It was nice to see Frazer Overton bouncing back to form winning the 12/u 100m IM.

Laura Swain had a super swim smashing the cut-off time in the 13/u 100m IM.

My Swimmer of the Meet is Matthew Coleman who was not even selected, but brought in as another swimmer had dropped out of the gala. Matthew swam a big best time and broke the cut-off time in the 11/u 50m freestyle and achieved another best time it the 12/u 50m breaststroke.

Well Done both swimmers
