Swimmer of Meet

Gerry Gibbons Memorial Trophy
Saturday 24th November, 2007

My thanks go to ALL of the team for waiting patiently for the presentation at the end of the gala.

Due to faults with the computer system, there were some incorrect scores recorded as well as points not deducted for swimmers beating the cut off times, resulting in the Peterborough team taking the trophy!

However, we DID retain the trophy for another year, so well done swimmers - we won with 124pts.
(anyone visiting Peterborough could always bring the trophy home!)

One swimmer that stood out was Rebecca Craven, but unfortunately was swimming too fast in both her events for any points.

This was the case for other swimmers who also beat the cut off times, they were Harry Dean-Allen, Luke Jones, Mark Tebbs and Ose Ikhena.

We had 8 wins during the evening, so well done to Ose Ikhena in the 13/u 100m Backstroke, Luke Jones in the 11/u 100m Breaststroke, Hollie Featherstone in the open 100m Freestyle, Reuben Reed in the 13/u 100m Freestyle, Michael Keal in the 9/u 50m Freestyle, Amelia Murfin in the13/u 100m Breaststroke and Kimberley Van-Haren in the Open 100m Butterfly.

Swimmer of the Meet goes to Michael Keal a determined winner in the 9/u 50m Freestyle, taking 2 seconds off his personnel best time.

Well done Michael
