Swimmer of the Meet

Lincs League 13th May, 2006

Although the result was disappointing, I thought there was great team spirit and swimmers just came to support the team which was nice.

Swimmers definitely worked hard and PB's were achieved but it was two disqualifications that cost us second place which again was disappointing.

Nice to see Nathan at Cads doing a good job with his team, we beat them last year but they beat us in the Speedo and now the Lincs League.  It'll be nice to meet them in the Speedo again!

Of course I was very disappointed that South Lincs beat us but it was also good to see them back competing with the best teams in Lincolnshire.
I'm pleased for Greg who I recommended for the job - he proved he was the right man for the job and has certainly turned things around.
I'm sure a local derby will be very exciting in the future, so hurry up and get promoted in the Speedo!

Our swimmer of the meet from the previous weekend, Laura Swain, had  a good evening achieving her National time in the 100m Breaststroke; lets hope she gets it at Enfield when it counts.  Laura also won the 12/u 50m Breaststroke. The 50m Freestyle was disappointing.

Reuben Reed won the 10 years 50m Freestyle but my choice was between the two double winners.
Rebecca Price won the 14/u 100m Freestyle and the100m Butterfly in a personal best time of 1.13.49 but Swimmer of the Meet goes to Ben Pogson who looked a class above the rest with the amount he won by.  Ben swam a PB winning the 14/u 100m Freestyle in a time of 58.77 beating his nearest rival by 6 seconds and a time of 1.05.00 in the 100m Backstroke winning by 5 seconds.
