Swimmer of Meet

Robin Hood Open
Sheffield 1st & 2nd October, 2005

It is always hard to find a best time at the first open meet of the new season and it was made harder still by the fact that we swam at Ponds Forge 50m international pool.
A number of swimmers really started the season well by beating their short course time in the longer pool. They were Joseph Howe with PB's in both the 50 & 100m Breaststroke, Elvijs Roberts in 200m Free, Henry Careless 200m Back, Rhys Cox 50m Free, Michael Craven 200m Back and 200m Breast.
There were a total of 32 swims which converted to PB's.
I could give the Swimmer of the Meet to all the lads who won the 'Top Boys' for the second year, also we are the only club to win it twice.

Ose Ikhena was in fine form with second place in the 50 & 100 Fly and third in 100 Free & 50 Breast.
Laura Swain came in 2nd in the 50 Breast, 3rd in 100 Free and 200IM.
Patrick Ikhena  gained 2nd place in the 100 Free.
Sam Wright was 3rd in 200 Backstroke.
Nathan Sargeant came 2nd in the 50 Back and 3rd in 100 Back
Rhys Cox was a double winner in the 50 Back and Fly, 2nd in 50 Free and 3rd in 200 Back
Swimmer of the Meet however, goes to Ben Pogson who achieved three 1st places in 200 IM, 100 Free and 100 Back.  Ben also came 3rd in 50 Free.

Well done Ben.
